Focusing Our Energy in the Right Direction

Energy consumption is a major concern at Heinz. By addressing this issue, Heinz can mitigate the financial impacts of rising energy costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and eliminate inefficiencies in our factories and offices around the world. As we continue to implement existing solutions, we will thoroughly evaluate our programs to ultimately establish both short-term and long-term energy use reduction goals. At the same time, we will work to overcome challenges to reducing energy use.

Continuously Exploring New Ways

We have already implemented numerous energy-efficiency initiatives across our operations. Projects have included air compressor system upgrades, installation of steam optimization technology, lighting improvements and a cogeneration project, among many others.
We have been active in promoting the appropriate use of alternative and renewable energy sources. And we are continuously exploring ways to harness new or natural energy sources because we recognize that change is necessary, and in many cases, cost effective.
